MED RISING IN CANTON,

A report received from Mr. Lau Chu Pak, (

a member of the Legislative Council, Hong Kong, and Mr. Ch'an Kai
Ming (PR ŠK ") on the 27th August 1915 shews that there is very grave danger of an early rising against the present Canton
Administration, The rising will take place simultaneously in Wei Chau ( M) and at Canton, Numbers of Wai Chau men are Baid to be passing through on their way home to take part in the rising.
Mr. Yau Shui Chi (Treasurer of the Sham Shui Po (
K) Dispensary) is a Wai Chau man, and is the sub-farmer of the
Liquor Farm in Wai Chau. His son is at present in Wai Chau as his manager. Mr, Lau states that Yau Chui Chi telegraphed to his son yesterday telling him to return at once as things were oritical, It is said that Yau Shui Chi knowe a lot but will not speak, Messrs. Lau and Ch1an further state that General Chiu, one of the Sz Tai T'in Wong, (@AAE), the nickname of the four Generals in Canton, has been bought over, and that General Ma is now being approached,
It may be however that General Chiu has only pretended
to join in order to find out the plan of campaign.
They further report that a certain 80 is in charge of the Canton Arsenal. He is a very old man and was schoolmaster to General Lung. He is safe, but the assistant manager is said to be doubtful.
